Parodontics. Splinting

Splinting is a method of the binding together the teeth with the purpose to strengthen them.

Indications:
• to remove the teeth mobility, arising during mastication and discomfort for a patient.
• to strength the teeth after orthodontic treatment.

Splints classification:
- Stationary
- Removable
- Put on the part of the dental row, it maintains the movable teeth.

- removable occlusive splint (to correct the bite).

Fibrous splint is fixed with composite materials. These splints are the method of choice. It is defender to put them if there are some occlusive defects or wide interdental intervals.

Metallic splints, fixed on retentional points of the teeth, for example the splints Rochettc и Maryland.
